This rugged 1983 25 sentimo Philippines butterfly coin has seen a lot of life in the past 40+ years. The exceptionally stubborn patina and wearing on this particular piece was just begging to remain apart of this coin's unique journey, so, we gave it a nice surface polish and have allowed the rest of it's story to remain. There's even a smattering of deep oxidation at the top of the coin which has brough the copper molecules within the brass to the surface, leaving a pink hue trickled across the top- something that's not very commonly found on old coins. The uniqueness of this rough and tumbled piece of the Philippines has an allure to it that's hard to describe, but easily seen. Juxtaposed with a gleaming sterling silver setting, the ring features a fully-patterned band and rests at a size 8.

The bottom of the coin states "graphium idaeoides" which is the particular species of butterfly shown that is native to the Philippines.

Butterfly

Can I resize this item?

If a product page does not have a drop down option for size selections, or if the product description does not state a need for the customer to input their desired size in the notes section of their purchase, then we are NOT able to resize the item. Some exceptions can be made with chain lengths. Please reach out to us at inspire@1888design.com and we will try to accommodate as best we can.

Are your earrings hypoallergenic?

All earring posts are made out of sterling silver, stainless steel, or brass metals unless otherwise stated in the product description. Sterling silver and stainless steel are both hypoallergenic metals. Brass can react differently among different skin types, so we advise knowing your body's tolerance to brass prior to purchasing earrings with brass ear posts. Again, all metals used are stated in each product's description tab.

Can I order this as a gift?
