The creatures of earth that wear a crown of Antlers are a potent symbol of rebirth and the natural cycle of regeneration. The bony growths with their natural strength and fierce points serve as a warning of inner strength. We must all take the lesson of living each moment to the fullest with complete attention because strength by nature is impermanent. This impermanence is the very thing makes them such a powerful symbol. Guardianship and wisdom are a secondary meaning of the antler. The raised head and strong inhalations of these animals as they seek out danger in the air reminds us that we have many guardians both in this world and the next to thank for our safety.
The Deer is widespread throughout mythology from all over this world. It has represented an object of worship, a messenger, an enchanter, and a reincarnation of deities. In short, the deer represents a connection to those things in life that are otherworldly, supernatural or divine.
For thousands of years, turquoise has been prized as a symbol of wisdom, nobility, and immortality. In many Native American cultures, it represents the Great Spirit in the Sky and is often referred to as the Sky Stone. It’s believed that if a crack forms in the stone, it has taken an injury for its wearer.
An orphan earring is 1888's term for a single earring that has lost its other pair. Many might see these as now useless, which makes it one of our favorite items to rescue and repurpose!
