Reimagined Components: A modern day cowgirl's dream- These two tear drop-shaped blue turquoise stones were once one single vintage necklace bead, now split in two to amply their beauty even further. They rest in a bed of pure sterling silver made from scratch entirely by 1888 Design to bring forth a unique design within this widely-adored combination in the southwest and beyond. The sterling silver dangled tassels are lightly texturized and hammered by hand. Overall these one of a kind studded earrings are fairly light in weight and comfortable to wear even for those more sensitive to weight.

For thousands of years, turquoise has been prized as a symbol of wisdom, nobility, and immortality. In many Native American cultures, it represents the Great Spirit in the Sky and is often referred to as the sky stone. It’s believed that if a crack forms in the stone, it has absorbed the impact that would have otherwise resulted in an injury to its wearer, making it a powerful stone of physical protection.
After each artifact or specimen has been discovered it is sent through a careful restoration process before being used in a design. If a particularly unique patina is found to add design value to an artifact, it's preserved & sealed to ensure its longevity & protection.
