Reimagined Components: Antique chandelier cut glass teardrop. This chandelier was saved from the side of the road and its components have been incorporated into many 1888 Design necklaces. This piece has been strung on a 20 1/2" 3mm gunmetal-plated rounded box chain.

~Chandelier~
The word 'chandelier' originates from the French word 'chandelle' meaning candle. The Chandelier with all its elegance is a glimmering example of our need to balance both form and function. A simple candle or lamp would allow us to cast out evening darkness but why not make it glimmer, shine and captivate? Our want to beautify our surroundings seems as deeply instinctual as any other human need and the chandelier is a transcendent example, an elevated method of giving light to the darkness.
After each artifact or specimen has been discovered it is sent through a careful restoration process before being used in a design. If a particularly unique patina is found to add design value to an artifact, it's preserved & sealed to ensure its longevity & protection.
