This 1888 Design is a:

One of a Kind

Reimagined Components: This real vintage Ford key was the perfect backer for a broken sterling silver squash blossom pendant that we salvaged from a scrap silver pile that was intended to be melted down. It was found without a stone, so we carefully set a black onyx stone into the empty bezel and created a new hole at the top to make this fun piece. We paired it with a 22" 3mm gunmetal-plated rounded box chain.

Components Found in:  Cottonwood AZ & Lambertville NJ

~Keys Auto~

Few things turn our heads faster than the rev of a powerful engine, or the site of James Dean against his 1953 MG TD sports car or his 1955 Triumph Tiger T110 650 cc motorcycle. Their keys can be incredible symbols of opportunity, possibility, and desire.

~Squash Blossom~

The squash blossom necklace has become ever more popular in recent years and it’s not hard to see why. Its unique array of squash blossom flowers in combination with the Naja symbol at its center seems to speak to people of all origins. It is thought to be rooted in the traditions of the Dine people and was later adopted by the Zuni, Navajo, and Hopi as well as other tribes of the North American plains. The blossom itself did not have a specific ceremonial purpose but was more considered a status symbol. When it comes to squash blossoms it was and remains the bigger the better. We at 1888 Design appreciate the design for its aesthetic power. One can’t help but notice the squash blossom as it glistens alive and proud on its wearer.

~Onyx~

A powerful warrior stone, Onyx helps stomp out negative thought patterns stemming from the most debilitating and toxic emotion of them all – fear. Include Onyx in your gem collection and always know that whatever happens, this powerful root chakra stone always has your back.
