This 1888 Design is a:

One of a Kind

Reimagined Components: An adorable missing component to a vintage watch band, this silver-tone butterfly band is embedded with crushed blue turquoise and red coral. The same goes for this silver-tone orphan earring in the shape of a leaf. Found from separate sources, these two components complimented each other beautifully and were meant to become one. The design hangs on a 18'' 2mm stainless steel oval link chain.

Components Found in: Quartzsite AZ

~Butterfly~

An undeniable symbol of transformation, butterflies teach us to embrace change. After all, the only true constant in life is change. Have the strength to create yourself anew. The Ancient Greeks often represented the soul as a butterfly so the divine symbolism of this delicate creature should get its due.

~Leaf~

"I have vivid recollections of the fiery orange ambers and gradient reds blanketing the mountain terrain around my Vermont home. They were sure to inspire my seasonally wild imaginings as I watched the foliage dance with one another in the wind. When my eyes had had their fill, I'd close them tightly to shut out the pulsing array of mountain fire... that way I could focus on the unique rustling the leaves made as they clung to their last few moments of connection to their parent tree."

These fragile creations of nature represent unconditional giving and unassuming strength through the cycle’s seasonal rebirth. Luck is also an appropriate association with the leaf because to be a leaf is to be lucky enough to know purpose without question. It is also said that if you catch a leave on its fall from tree to ground, you will have good luck for some time after.

~Turquoise~

For thousands of years, turquoise has been prized as a symbol of wisdom, nobility, and immortality. In many Native American cultures, it represents the Great Spirit in the Sky and is often referred to as the Sky Stone. It’s believed that if a crack forms in the stone, it has taken an injury for its wearer.

~Red Coral~

This beautifully natural and oceanic material is known to help promote transformation and well-being.

~Watch n’ clock~

The incredible craftsmanship required to create a piece of machinery so sensitive that it can keep perfect synchronous motion is a true testament to human ingenuity and artistry.

~Orphan Earring~

An orphan earring is 1888's term for a single earring that has lost its other pair. Many might see these as now useless, which makes it one of our favorite items to rescue and repurpose!

After each artifact or specimen has been discovered it is sent through a careful restoration process before being used in a design. If a particularly unique patina is found to add design value to an artifact, it's preserved & sealed to ensure its longevity & protection.
