In an average lifetime it will beat 2.5 billion times... that's right, billion. The heart may very well be the most resilient part of our body. When we hurt it aches, when we run it beats faster to keep up, when we sleep it stays awake to watch over us... Our hearts are truly a symbol of perseverance and our ability to keep going no matter what may come our way. Often referred to as the seat of emotions, the heart is, of course, analogous to love and affection. Like the red rose, the heart symbol states one's clear intention to express their love, desire, and courage. I was once taught that you get the courage for something after you do it… so have heart!
Although Cubic zirconia was discovered as a natural mineral in 1937, its man made production didn't begin until the 1970s. It has been widely used as a diamond replacement holding many diamond-like properties. Crystals usable for faceting were first produced in 1969 but it wasn't until the invention of the skull-melting technique in the USSR that commercial production of these little diamond look-alikes became possible.
~1888’s Found Treasures~
In keeping with 1888’s company mission to educate and preserve vintage & antique historical works, we occasionally decide that some things are better left as they are!
After each artifact or specimen has been discovered it is sent through a careful restoration process before being used in a design. If a particularly unique patina is found to add design value to an artifact, it's preserved & sealed to ensure its longevity & protection.
