The North American Opossum is a polarizing creature. Many consider this marsupial a rat-like pest shoeing it away from their garbage cans and off their fences. While others see it as a friendly nocturnal visitor and find its dark and wide eyes and bushy fur sweet and cuddly. Whatever your take may be, when an opossum comes into your life you should think about what it could symbolize. If you were to startle the creature quick enough it would play dead. That is to say, it would play possum. Its instinct tells it that a dead possum isn’t nearly as appealing as a live one and it simply plops over and waits out the danger. Think about how much courage that would take to trust the nature of your challenger enough to know that it wouldn’t attack if you simply acted a certain way. The Opossum also carries its young clinging to its back seemingly unencumbered by the burden as it scavenges for anything it can find to feed its family. In general, opossums are thought to be a good omen and carry with them a symbol of fertility and strong family protection.
~Watch n’ clock~
The incredible craftsmanship required to create a piece of machinery so sensitive that it can keep perfect synchronous motion is a true testament to human ingenuity and artistry.
~Keys / Locks~
The right key can unlock the door to a lover’s heart, a new and bright opportunity, a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, a chest of treasure, a deep and dark secret, or even change time itself by the winding of an old grandfather clock…
Historically, Companies like PF Corbin (known for their beautifully engraved “Carded keys”) or the Tower company (1865 founder John Tower) who was responsible for the first metal handcuff, can serve as a reminder that there is beauty in having the key to free ourselves…but taking the first step through the door is entirely up to you…one key, one lock…but what’s on the other side of the door is infinite possibility.
~10 Pfenning German Oak Sampling Coin~
The obverse side of the 10 Pfennig coin has a small oak seedling sprouting 5 leaves. Germany has used the oak tree as a symbol for hundreds of years but this small seedling represents the hope for reconstruction after the great war. On the reverse side sits two ears of rye and the value and denomination.
~Claws, Teeth & Bones~
The claws, teeth, and bones of wild animals have historically been worn as symbols of prowess & social standing. Deep admiration was given to those who could kill the most fearsome of beasts. It's no longer a necessity for most of us to hunt for our survival, so the wearing of claws, teeth, & bones has become symbolic of overcoming great obstacles despite our fears, and connecting with our inner animal as we charge forth the evolution of the spirit.
